This is a pretty big lake (2nd biggest in California) with very little development. North of Susanville. The main attraction is fishing for rainbow trout. Almost all of the land around it is owned by the BLM or Forest Service so there’s little development so it’s nice and quiet and fairly cheap. We are staying at Merrill Campground in a site down by the lake. No services by the lake except scattered water faucets for drinking water and the bathrooms, of course. But with the geezer pass it costs $10 a night. Individual campsites are quite large.
